Post-Retirement Health Benefits
There are many things to think about and consider when you are planning your retirement. The Retirement Considerations Guide may help you navigate through the process, so you know what to expect and your retirement commencement is as smooth as possible.
Eligibility
Eligible Retired members will be covered immediately following normal retirement age, provided a Group Insurance Enrollment Card has been completed and submitted to the Administrator and all other requirements are met.
Please review the Eligibility section of your Post-Retirement Health Benefits Plan booklet for eligibility criteria that apply to you and your dependents.
Benefits Provided
The Post-Retirement Health Benefits Plan provides the following coverage to eligible Retired Members:
- Retiree Life Insurance
- Extended Health Benefits
- Vision Care
- Dental
- TELUS Health Virtual Care
Please check your Post-Retirement Health Benefits Plan booklet to access details on each of the coverages provided.
How to File a Claim
For Dental claims, present your Member ID card to your dentist’s office. Your dentist should be able to submit claims on your behalf.
If your dentist charged you for the full cost of the services provided, you can claim for reimbursement using the Dental Claim form. Your dentist should be able to submit claims on your behalf.
For Extended Health, you can submit your receipt for reimbursement, either:
- Through the GreenShield+ website or mobile app. If you have not yet registered, do it today!
- Using the Extended Health Benefits Claim form - The completed claim form together with copies of the receipts should be sent to the Plan Administration Office. You can do this by fax 905-946-2535 or by email to health@ndtbenefits.org.
You can register for direct deposit for payment of your Extended Health and Dental claims via the GreenShield+ website or mobile app, or using the Direct Deposit Form.
For Life Insurance claims, the Plan Administration Office should be advised immediately when a death occurs. The Plan will send your beneficiary the proper claim forms for completion. A death certificate will be required.
